Dear Supporter:
Brothers Who Care has been working to improve the community since 1996. We are a volunteer organization working out of the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center in Hagerstown, Maryland. The center is the former North Street School, an important historical building located in the predominantly black Jonathan Street neighborhood. Our assistance and programs are free and open to everyone. We serve hundreds of families throughout the community.

Why Give?

We maintain a
Culture & Resource Center open to the public, as an outlet to educate the community and promote cultural appreciation, unity and respect for all.
We offer free assistance and support to anyone, including free computers and free computer training to help individuals better themselves. Our hope is that the skills that are learned and the certification received through our training can increase the participants educational, career and business opportunities.

We have a Neighborhood Youth Club program that provides life skills experiences to young people including training to encourage economic and environmental responsibility.

We announce community activities, jobs, housing, self-help programs, and black history/culture through our community news publication "Speak Up". This free news publication is delivered door-to-door every to hundreds of homes and is available at the Washington County Free Public Library.

You are invited to visit our office.  Call or write to for more information or a copy of the “Speak UP” Community News publication. Brothers Who Care is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization and your donation is tax deductible.
To donate or volunteer, call our office or download the form from the link below.

Thank you,
Andy Smith, President
