MINORITY AFFAIRS

Our organization has developed the only Minority Affairs office in Washington County working to promote racial, gender and religious tolerance; offering diversity training; we have Black, Hispanic, Asian and Native American minority affairs officers and representatives that deal with health, education, jobs, housing, home ownership and business ownership as well as racial disparities and social justice issues. For several years our office hadserved as one the State of Maryland's Minority Outreach & Technical Assistance (MOTA) office.

Our Community Outreach Team has increased the opportunities of other organizations working to promote diversity and reduce minority disparities. Our Minority Affairs Team led panel discussions at community forums that increase public awareness and participation in diversity education and cultural competency.
